The local rag made the bold choice to make no endorsement, instead saying 'no choice is acceptable.' Then they said 'go vote!'

Huh

I would not have been thrilled, to have a back woods paper be, what, the third paper including the clan. Better yet if it were a weekly like the Ephrata Review or Penny Saver.

Too many posts snuck in as this was my weak defense of what I assumed to be my "home town" paper, the very sad Reading Eagle, coupled with my very willingness to let sad little papers endorse the Donald.

Chris Matthews trying to tell an African-American woman that the KKK is a joke and when she disagreed, he had the nerve to ask "have you ever met anyone in the KKK?"

WTF?

Matthews has constantly brushed off the racial elements of Trump and his campaign.

I'm not a fan of this narrative that college educated people are voting for Clinton because there's a divide in this country between the educated and uneducated. They're voting for her because Trump is a bigot.

You don't think there is a certain classist elitism in this country? I don't think it's necessarily driving the vote for Clinton, but it exists and drives other things.

Also gotta like the Dem strategy: we are doing better with white voters who have college degrees than those without. How do we co'nsolidate our advantage in other demographic groups by winning more of the white vote?

Free college!

No, I just don't believe the narrative that the Democratic party is now the party of college educated whites is true. Before this year, more college educated whites voted Republican.

Maybe but they still voted republican less than whites in general. There's a positive correlation between education and voting democrat.

I can't help but be surprised whenever I discover a college educated person voting for trump. Like, sometimes I feel like they're kidding.

I doubt it's a permanent shift. 2020 will probably feature a return to prior patterns with a more mainstream gop candidate.
