Excellent. Barring some type of wikileaks disaster, it's over. She doesn't even need FLa or Oh.

Take NH, PA, MI, Wi, Col, and VA....272. Game over.

Dammit not good enough, I want a landslide with the senate changing to blue and the house gaining back a bunch of seats (unrealistic to think they can get 30)

new poll from WBUR shows Hassan beating Ayotte 50-40 after the polling has been back and forth for months. Trump is dragging everyone else down with him (Clinton 47 Trump 32 Johnson 8 Stein 3 in NH).

McGinty 39-Toomey 38 in a new F&M poll...Dems have an advantage in registered voters that will likely prove to be the difference there.

Clinton has moved to about a 3 to 1 favorite in betting odds too. I really wanted to put a trent steele like amount on her after the republican convention but not sure I could bear that loss plus a trump win.

Once the media decides they need to 'be fair' the polls will stabilize. It's in their interest ($$$) to be 'fair'.

We are arriving at the bottom floor. Where normally this would be a non-issue, or at least one that few people would put energy into, there are new questions about Melania's status in the US. Her tale of legal presences before she managed a green card, something somewhat amazing in and of itself, has some significant questions about her self reported need to travel back and forth to Slovinia to get her visa stamped (not sure what that means) to stay legal makes it sound like abuse of a tourist visa, which makes working a problem. The there would be questions around an H1B Visa, that she should not have made qualifications for (maybe Khan helped her). As I said, this would be insignificant if her husband was not alternating between birther questions, illegal immigration rants, and building walls.

I caught two sources writing articles about this, maybe one drive the other, as they were the same, so I expect it to be something that bubbles up soon.

Paths to victory interactive at the bottom is pretty fun. So nice to click PA and VA (which I think are absolute locks) and see 253 paths to 2. Add NV and it's already over.

New Mexico seems like a lock too. With that and the three you mentioned she hits 270 plus.

It's not enough for Hillary to win narrowly. It has to be a clear and convincing victory. The closer the election the worse the damage from Trump's inevitable challenge to its legitimacy. Anyone thinking this madness will stop solely as a result of a victory -- especially a close victory -- is being naive.

War on Drugs takes predictable turn in Philippines
Since Rodrigo Duterte became president of the Philippines just over a month ago, promising to get tough on crime by having the police and the military kill drug suspects, 420 people have been killed in the campaign, according to tallies of police reports by the local news media.

Most were killed in confrontations with the police, while 154 were killed by unidentified vigilantes. This has prompted 114,833 people to turn themselves in, as either drug addicts or dealers, since Mr. Duterte took office, according to national police logs.

But human rights groups, Roman Catholic activists and the families of many of those killed during the crackdown say that the vast majority were poor Filipinos, many of whom had nothing to do with the drug trade. They were not accorded an accusation and a trial, but were simply shot down in the streets, the critics say.

Critics of the president’s campaign have rallied around the case of Michael Siaron, a 29-year-old rickshaw driver in Manila, who was shot one night by unidentified gunmen as he pedaled his vehicle in search of a passenger. When his wife rushed to the scene, a photographer took a picture of her cradling his body in the street, and the photograph quickly gained wide attention.

Scribbled in block letters on a cardboard sign left near his body was the word “pusher.” His family members insist that he was not involved in the drug trade, though they said he sometimes used meth.

Indirectly acknowledging criticism that his policies trample over the standard judicial process, Mr. Duterte said that human rights “cannot be used as a shield to destroy the country.”

He has called for drug users and sellers to turn themselves in or risk being hunted down, a threat backed up by the bodies piling up near daily on the streets of Philippine cities.

Image
the President responded to this photo:
“There you are sprawled on the ground, and you are portrayed in a broadsheet like Mother Mary cradling the dead cadaver of Jesus Christ,” he said. “That’s just drama.”

Surprisingly, what's liberal and conservative isn't limited just based on what is going on in America. Other people in other countries also exist and have political ideas.

Yes, but we are Americans discussing American politics and legislature. What's the point of judging bills on some grand unified spectrum?
You can say that there are more progressive/liberal options out there while also understanding that the ACA was liberal.

Liberal and conservative have meanings that go beyond American politics. Why can't you accept that?

It's true. In many countries the liberals are the good ones.

Your party nominated Trump.

Indeed. But if you're trying to broaden this to what the words mean beyond our borders, and my point is generally speaking is while liberal and conservative do mean different things in other countries than they do here, it's far from consistent that what is "liberal" is more left wing elsewhere than in America.

The clearest example of this is Australia where the Liberal Party is the major right of center party, and has governed the country for most of the past few decades.

In Europe the coalition of Liberals in the European Parliament are mostly centrist parties, more pro-market than their countries' socialist/labor parties, pro-EU, pro-trade, etc. The FDP in Germany is its most free market party. In the UK the Liberal Democrats are more centrist generally speaking than Labour.

And most of this stems from the fact that classical liberals are pro-markets, pro-trade, etc. and the American usage of the word to describe people on the left side of the political spectrum is not the norm.

Yea, Clinton up 11 points in the new Franklin and Marshall poll for PA...

I think that's overstating it a bit, but if she wins PA and the networks call it at 8:00 on election night, it's gonna be a real short night for the Trump campaign..

Rs whine that drumpf should be focusing on HRC deficiencies "because she's such a weak candidate" is ludicrous.

If she's "such a weak candidate", what does that say about your completely awful candidate?

Wait, don't bother answering because it's immediately obvious what it says even to your mouthbreather base
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)
