I don't think it's likely at all, but the fact that it's even within the realm of possibility speaks volumes.

calvin, this is a guy who demanded a crying baby be escorted from the room he was giving a speech in. this whole damn election is unprecedented.

ok, but it has never happened in the history of us politics. a vp dropped once after being on the ticket for 2 and a half weeks, but come on. it would be chaos.

Trump will not drop out. He's taking this to the end and when he loses hell blame some conspiracy.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

The Donald doesn't quit, he declares bankruptcy and the blame falls on someone else (the Republican party). November 9th he'll go bankrupt politically.

I don't think we should take him lightly, though. I think that plays into his hands.

Yeah, there's no way his ego lets him drop out.

1 of 2 things will happen

1. He drops out.
2. He graciously accepts defeat and tries to unif....hahahahahahahahaha. He claims the election was rigged by "Crooked Hillary" and America is terrible.

Paul Ryan then comes out to announce the next 4 years are about stopping Hillary Clinton from destroying America(read: doing anything) and we get a repeat of 2008-2016. See you all in 2024.

Uh, the Affordable Care Act, the most progressive healthcare legislation in American history passed in 2010.

Expound on this a bit more

A Tea Party, Freedom Caucus guy who was instrumental in starting the push to oust Boehner lost his primary tonight to a doctor backed by a coalition of agriculture groups and more business oriented GOP groups (aka The Establishment). Huelskamp lost his seat on the Agriculture Committee because he was disloyal, and it's like the most ag centric district in the country. Not exactly a clean win, since I really dislike farm subsidies, but I'll take any scalp I can get from the Freedom Caucus, and I'm sure the Chamber feels the same way.

Over at Redstate, they're laying responsibility for this at the feet of Trump, rather than at the disastrous administration of Sam Brownback. The problem of course with that analysis is that what happened in Kansas isn't much different from what happened in Louisiana with Vitter's loss to Bel Edwards largely seen as a repudiation of Jindal's disastrous tenure as governor.

Nevertheless, there really is an interesting Trump/Tea Party dynamic that seems rather complicated at this point.

Pramila Jayapal looks to be the Democratic candidate for the 7th in Washington. This is Jim McDermott's seat. The 2nd and 3rd place are battling it out within a percentage of each other to face her. One of the guys is Joe McDermott, completely unrelated to Jim.

She's an activist, especially around immigration, that decided to go into public service a few years ago and received an endorsement from #Bern

I still have hope that a liberally stacked Supreme Court will make significant changes to the current system. If the Dems are in control in 2020 I believe they can redistrict in their favor.

I also think that the American people can take so much obstructionism. There will be massive pressure on the government to pad legislation on guns and immigration. HRC needs to do a better job of explaining to the American people what the republicans are doing. Hopefully the Bernie grassroots movement will encourage people to start changing things at the local level.

It's farther to the left than our old policy which was super conservative. Anything without single payer can't be considered liberal at this point.

Fair. For as much as I hate broad arguments as to why people should vote Hillary, the Supreme Court argument is by far the strongest.

Also agree that I think they're not playing on the fact that the Republicans literally governed on the principle of nothing getting done for 8 years. Can we really afford another 8 years of obstructionism, unpassed budgets, and occasional government shut downs? Unfortunately, the Orange Terror keeps us from talking about this important stuff with his ridiculous statements.
