I agree on Tapper. He's local, I believe, too.

what the fuck does "what's not fair " have to do with anything I've written? Your own little distorted views of your inadequacies - you're not that inadequate - prevent you from seeing how squalid most corporate business activity actually is. Plenty of jerks stay CEO for very long, or more accurately, for long enough to remove considerably more than their share of the spoils. Particularly in financial services businesses.

I have inferred that some here are being dumbasses about the arc of the election season, particularly events in the R theater of operations. That's not name calling. In fact it's something that yields to remedies, if arrested in time.

Tapper yelled at me over the phone once when I was a House Press Secretary for a reporting mistake he made on air. He also is the most canned person to talk to in conversation. Always sounds like he broadcasting.

He seems fair when reporting on air, and he interacts with conservatives on Twitter even though his pre-journalism background was Dem/liberal. Wouldn't shock me if he was a bit fake in real life or defensive of his rep, but he seems like he tries hard to be fair and test politicians from across the spectrum.

Looks like Clinton to win Illinois, Missouri to Sanders. Illinois is bigger, so Clinton wins. The slow, inevitable march continues.

drsmooth wrote:calvin, it's difficult for me to convey how far behind you are here. drumpf is not winning majorities in states where he needs to win them. 40% will not do it in the proportional states. He needs to win ALL the "true" WTA states, PLUS bigger pluralities in the proportional states, to gain the nomination. He's not doing it. He already lost Ohio. So he's even less likely to do what he needs to do.

If he underperforms in big states, like PA and CA - which seems quite probable - it's unlikely he'll corral enough delegates to secure the nomination before Cleveland.

It's not my fault you can't do math.

Plus, drumpf is just a disgusting awful, horrible organism.

It's pretty clear Trump will not be able to secure the number of delegates necessary to win the nomination outright.

Tonight some of the discussion has been about how big the gap between "1237" and the number Trump actually winds up with has to be for the party to have the stones to deny him the nomination. Consensus was less than 100, Trump will be nominated - over 100, let the games begin.

But there is also the gap between theory and practice. Such a move would have, presumably, catastrophic consequences for the Republican party.

As of yesterday that 538 feature had him ahead of target. He can still win outright without Ohio especially since he seems to be picking up a handful extra in Illinois.

I'm guessing he will stil be on target when that feature is updated. If not, a percentage point or two below.

Needed 272 to stay "on target" tonight. Even his best case scenario leaves him around 70 short of that number tonight.

in the latest polls he's more than doubled cruz. rubio's votes are likely to be spread among cruz and kasich, but cruz would need all of them plus some to get within close range

Indeed.

The "social contract" had been fraying for a few years, and Romney's "47%" comment was perhaps the first major rip in it (along with other "makers vs. takers" rhetoric from the 2012 election). Now it's torn to bits.
