FBI locked itself out of the legendary iphone

“There was a mistake made in the 24 hours after the attack,” James B. Comey Jr., the director of the F.B.I., told lawmakers at a hearing on the government’s attempt to force Apple to help “unlock” the iPhone.

F.B.I. personnel apparently believed that by resetting the iCloud password, they could get access to information stored on the iPhone. Instead, the change had the opposite effect — locking them out and eliminating other means of getting in.

The thing is that they can probably access it. Or the NSA definitely can.

It's about a precedent so that they don't have to ask the NSA or work extra hard every time they want to unlock a phone. If they can just ask apple to remove the security around it every time, that's probably easier and opens the door for future iOS work arounds they could make Apple do.

Which is why Apple is trying to make it more and more impossible for even them to do it.

I find it funny that the FBI doesn't have a team of nerds capable of doing that.

FBI is law enforcement,they're usually behind the times. the NSA can definitely do it. i dont want them to, though, nor do they.
