If that happened, I'd love to see Bernie run as an Independent as well.

For once you would have 4 high-profile candidates and give the country actual legitimate choices.

Boy would that be awesome.

Pretty much happened in 1912

Wilson, with 43 percent of the vote, romped to victory with 435 Electoral votes. TR, got 88 as a Progressive candidate. Incumbent Taft only picked up 12 and Socialist Debs got more than 900,000 votes but nothing in the College.

Good times.

Chuck Robb vs Oliver North vs Marshall Coleman vs Doug WIlder (the latter 2 ran as independents)

I think this was posted here - great article that The PC Police Propelled Trump.

The last time the liberals shut down the voices of ordinary Americans, they got Reagan in response. I was one of those young and neither left-nor-right people at the time - confused and frustrated that no one was speaking up for the America in which I was raised and its values. Standing up to overpaid postal workers and then stomping on pissant countries that dared to defy us - that was red meat, baby.

Today you may have Fox News and Am yak radio, but you have an overwhelming PC police force in politics and the media. Here is what's in the mind of Trump voters:

* A cop shoots a black guy. Used to be, OK, a criminal got shot. Now #BLM and the cop is a criminal and you're a racist if you challenge that.

* A freak starts wearing dresses and calling himself a lady. Used to be, ha-ha what a freak. Now (s)he is brave and noble and Woman Of The Year. You're intolerant and bigoted if you don't embrace her wonder.

* Overwhelmingly, modern terrorism is Islamist. But if you dare whisper that or fret about how we vet Muslim immigrants, you're a racist.

Finally along comes a guy who says what you're thinking.

Trump is enabled because the PC police have shouted down every other politician, professor, pundit, and public figure. You could have had reasoned discussion, but you closed it off. So now you get the crass version.

Yeah, and they secretly conspired, with all their special secret PC lingo, to elect majorities of Rs in both the House and the Senate, and in most US state legislatures and Governors offices! The sneaky bastards!

This theory is airtight - no oxygen at all gets in there

Ben Carson:
“I am not ready to quit,” he told supporters in Baltimore Tuesday night.

Instead, he turned his attention to a far different topic: the Pledge of Allegiance.

“You think about the pledge,” he said. “The pledge that we all learned in kindergarten.”

And with that the candidate launched into a 15-minute soliloquy, annotating each phrase.

Kochs won't bother to be against Trump. they're too busy winning all the states while no one on the other side cares.

in addition to no clear R POTUS candidate emerging from this circular firing squad, you know what else is not emerging? This cycle's Hunter Thompson. if ever a campaign called out for a Raoul Duke to limn it, this one's it
