She is further right than Clinton probably.

How do you figure? In her short tenure, she's been pro LGBT rights, pro choice, called to restore Glass-Steagall, and favors tax incentives for renewable energy startups.

Somehow far less prosperous countries provide the things Bernie is talking about. However do they do it?

98% taxes probably, right? Definitely has nothing to do with staying out of never-ending wars.

Saw her on MTP today. She's still a little green but she's very impressive. Hope she has a US birth certificate.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Trump started incorporating some leftish populist positions held by Sanders--most notably free college education and (partial) student loan forgiveness.

That's why he's dangerous (to the GOP, too). He can do whatever he wants and just say that it's his opinion and he's being his own man. Americans are just starting to tune in and probably missed half the crazy stuff he said/did.

we're seriously not even bothering with dog whistles anymore. the topic amongst the republicans is whether to disavow the KKK or not

Is your point that a smaller population leads to a smaller tax base? Because it also means less people to whom to provide the services so, logically, the economics are the same. U.S. per capita income exceeds that of Germany, Sweden, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Iceland, France, Belgium (I could go on).

And I'm not sure what diversity has to do with providing things like healthcare and free college tuition. Mexicans may be murderers, rapists and drug dealers but they still have the same healthcare needs.

you mean like Germany then. There's support in what you say for how they did it (particularly the diversity part), less for how they continue to do it.

TP pulling out the Republican talking points. Disappointing.

1) I'm not a Republican. And I don't listen to Republicans. That's my own analysis of Bernie's "plan." I read The Atlantic and The Economist - both left of center. They agree with me that Bernie's selling snake oil to the everybody-gets-a-trophy crowd.

2) I'd love to hear your perception of Bernie's "plan." How would you explain Bernie to someone who just got back from 2 years off the grid?

At the end of the day, Bernie's a confused populist just like Chumpolini - the major difference is that Bernie seems like a nice guy who doesn't hate anybody except successful people.

They're markedly dissimilar. trumo is a profoundly ignorant asshole with no plans but plenty of vitriol. Sanders is an adult with a coherent worldview and plans - plans which would benefit from refinement, but plans.

What's the value to you of alleging they're alike?

They are both symptoms of the same problem, and they are both clueless about solving that problem. You have a point though because Drumpf* is genuinely dangerous, whereas Sanders is merely a distraction, a fly in Hillary's ointment.

We've bantered about the proper appellation for Chump.

Turnip has a ring to it, but in this PC age, it's just too demeaning to root vegetables.

Trumo is an inside joke, and there's already way too much of that here.

I like Chump, or the more proper Chumpolini, but it doesn't roll off the tongue too easily.

Happily, John Oliver has solved it for us: Drumpf.
