He had cotton mouth for one speech and needed water - hasn't happened since. Last night, he made it obvious he had turned a humiliation into a useful lesson, and correctly applied the tactics that were used on him in one debate on another candidate in this debate, to great effect.
He gets cottonmouth and his forehead glistens every time he makes a speech.
Meh. Cottonmouth doesn't necessarily mean nervous. I get it sometimes when I teach and have to talk a lot. I can assure you that addressing a bunch of undergraduates has long since failed to unnerve me.
It doesn't matter what it means. It's the perception. He can't get thru 5 minutes of a speech without constantly licking his lips. It's not exactly a stretch to say he's nervous when it in fact reinforces his label of the guy who had that water incident as well as his meltdown in the debate.
And he also looks 15 which doesn't help.
Everyone knows that the most important quality in a President is whether he looks good or bad on TV.
It mattered to Kennedy!
