when he says stuff, like this

"I'm a good Christian," the Republican presidential front-runner said. "If I become president, we're gonna be saying Merry Christmas at every store ... You can leave happy holidays at the corner."

which is lie on top of lie on top of pandering on top of pandering, how does any rational person not get fully repulsed? this is the opposite of keeping it real. this is being a bold fucking liar.

I know two Trump supporters and before they even started supporting I would unequivocally say that they were two of the dumbest people I knew. There are a lot of those in this country.

if you make the leap from bernie to trump or vice-versa, you really need to reevaluate how you look at things

Well, obviously in terms of Trump, er, "Turnip", that is correct.

Then again, anyone who closely follows politics and has a brain could see this coming from a mile away.

Palin is a certifiable nut job but may, just may be able to steal enough Cruz support to get Trump, er, "Turnip" over the top in Iowa. If Trump, er, "Turnip" wins in Iowa it is over. He will run the table in NH and the south and win the nomination before Hillary.

I still think Hillary is going to have major issues with the email stuff. 50/50 she faces an indictment. She's also one of the most unlikable human beings on the planet. Bernie in contrast is surging and even if you don't agree with his views (which many don't) he is a likable, genuine guy who believes in what he is saying. Rooting for him as he's my solid #2.

To quote Steve Schmidt................"only Hillary Clinton could turn a 74 year old career politician and self admitted socialist into a revolutionary figure."

oh god, where to begin?

hillary is miles more likable than trump. i know it sucks to live in your little world where HRC is wildly unliked, it's a fun narrative, but she's pretty well like among Democrats. Actual numbers will back this up, Trump is, by far, the most unlikable candidate.

(Many people do agree with Bernie's views, like most people in this country)

the last quote is hilarious. what does that make the republican field then? a group of career politicians who can't easily beat out a rich privileged blowhard xenophobic asshole. i kept hearing about what a deep republican field this was. a bush consistently got out-campaigned by a blowhard.

as a far leftist person, i'm not worried whatsoever, everything's gone great for us so far. keep grasping at those straws, tho.

gotta love the self fulfilling prophesies of the right, tho.

2006: No way Obama can win, he's best waiting for 2012.
2008: Obama will ruin this country, also he's Kenyan.
2010: Even though Obama and the Democrat majority hasn't done anything, they're ruining America.
2012: The stripped down version of healthcare reform that we made shitty sucks, vote us in and we'll repeal it
*Obama re-elected*
2012-2015: Fuck it, why legislate? See what happens when you don't give us what we want?
2016: No way a socialist can win, lol

Not sure if you are talking to me, but I'm a registered Democrat who hasn't voted for a Republican in any election (local, statewide or national) since 2000.

I have zero love for the GOP.

i wasn't talking about anybody specifically, yes.

i've heard this "nobody will vote for a socialist" line from as many people as I heard "nobody will vote for a black man" line as i did pre 2008. it's a bad argument.

Friendly reminder that rick fucking santorum won Iowa in 2012. But it got reversed at conventions to Paul or whatever.

Either way, Iowa means nothing as it is one of the least representative states in the union.

Two candidates that are so similar, hold similar values and would propose similar agendas, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump

Ryan Howard doesn't read this board, but that doesn't stop us from talking to and about him. Feel affronted if you want, but it was clear he was not talking to you specifically.

Brantt- your argument for being pro-Trump is that Trump would not be beholden to corporate interests (like Bernie)

let me make something clear

due to the SCOTUS rulings in Citizens United vs the FEC and McCutcheon vs the FEC, any future attempts to restrict campaign finance by any party dem or gop are pretty much futile.

the rulings were both 5-4 with the 4 conservative justices voting it down and the right leaning moderate joining them

1) in the next 4-8 years I can almost guarantee that at least 3 justices will either die or retire, maybe 4 (Ginsberg 82, Breyer 77, Kennedy 79, Scalia 79)
2) Trump will most certainly appoint conservative justices and has said as such, these justices would certainly uphold current rulings on the matter
3) HRC will most certainly appoint liberal justices and has said as such, even though she takes corporate money and special interest money she is on record for wanting reform and wants those rulings overturned
4) Even though Trump does not take corporate money you can bet that he has his own self interests that align with many corporations interests

so unless the president is the only figure you want free from corporate and special interest money then go ahead and vote for Trump, but thinking long term and having HRC as a president who appoints liberal justices that would eventually overturn those rulings (and if they ever get a dem controlled congress to write more reform laws), you then will affect the ENTIRE political system and enable a whole slew of candidates in the legislature (reps and senators) that corporate money will less of an impact on.
