It's funny how the republicans are pretending to disagree with what trump said

Yes, all except Graham agree with him in some form or another

It's like he's trying to alienate people and lose momentum, but every crazy thing he says gets him better poll numbers. Maybe the problem is with our country and the people who live in rather than the politicians we keep suffering through. Maybe we're getting what we deserve from these candidates.

Tom Cotton allows as to how we need to send 30,000 brave Arkansans - ok, US troops generally - into, I guess, Syria, to get sufficient Mooslim killing done

Meanwhile, another bloodthirsty reactionary Harvard grad who's currently running for something whines that the defect in POTUS's foreign policy is he isn't sufficiently shrill and insinuating enough, and is providing examples of how shrill insinuation should be done

Tough guys

I was thinking about Trump's proposal last night and think he is on the right track but focusing on the wrong group. Given the perpetrators of most of the recent mass shootings in the United States, maybe we should really be focusing on interning and/or keeping out all mentally ill people.

We could start with the current slate of GOP presidential candidates.

I wouldn't like that.

Kind of interesting observation from Devin Nunes (R-CA) on the quantitative change in the content of his constituents' mail since he entered Congress in 2002

I don't have any confirmation on Vox's (not OUR Voxes, the other Vox's) offhand assertion that this "has transformed Nunes from one of the most conservative members of Congress to one of the biggest critics of the Freedom Caucus and its tactics."

Today, SCOTUS hears oral arguments in Fisher v. University of Texas II.

The dealth knell for affirmative action?

This Atlantic article argues that a new admission policy based on socio-economic status would be an improvement over race-based admission policies.

Notepad++ released a note to it's French users to kindly uninstall the software if they voted FN. Translated "I don't give a fuck if we lose users, this software was written by an immigrant."

I think research on this has been pretty inconclusive according to http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/her ... dmissions/

now all we have to do is severely diminish the obsession with college degrees as an occupational threshold

Most 21st century white collar jobs are more about willing complicity than demonstrated capacity
