No he doesn't. No one serious observer believes he can win a general election, or even possibly that he is genuinely committed to doing so. Not one. Pundits pretend that they believe it in public because hey, they need some kind of horserace to report on. But near the end, McConnell and Priebus did acknowledge to the group that a deadlocked convention is indeed something the party should prepare for, both institutionally at the RNC and politically at all levels in the coming months.
