He won't slink away like Bush did once he was no longer president. He said as much.

I'm not sure what he really could do. Clinton is all over the place, but I'm not sure if he's accomplishing much. It took Carter a long time to become the best ex President we've ever had.

Well what he says makes a lot of sense so I guess that means people still believe the system can be fixed. What I'm surprised about is that Hillary isn't going further to the left.

She's already fairly left and has put forth a lot of good ideas and policy proposals that are more workable within the context of how we govern.

IMO she is centrist on a lot of stuff like defense, the war on drugs, wall st, corporate america...I think people are still looking for real change and maybe that has to come outside the current way the country is governed where both parties are really for the status quo

he's largely a one-note pissed off guy. i don't see how this will get people out to vote any more than 'centrist' clinton will. obama was hopeful, sanders isn't at all. last night's SOTU showed the difference, in my view. i think he's valuable in the primary and it has worked by making base voters intrigued and bringing out her leftist views, but he's not going to win the primary and he'll then be able to go back to the senate and do what he does well. so then we are left with clinton v the republican. i would hope you would vote for her.

You don't think Bernie has a base that he's energized who otherwise either wouldn't vote at all or at least wouldn't vote for Hillary? The internet Bernie echochamber definitely doesn't agree with that. Personally, the only Republicans I'd definitely vote for Hillary over are Christie, Carson, and Cruz.

538 puts Clinton at a 93% chance to win the nomination.

If you'd vote for Bush, Trump, or Rubio over Clinton, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not sure what you believe, but you're not a liberal if you vote that way. Honestly, it sounds like you've bought into something that's just not there.

then go ahead. if you're voting for bernie #1 and your #2 vote isn't Clinton, I think you have no idea how our politics works, in all honesty.

Or I think the country's far enough gone that I'd rather see it burn itself down than continue on the slow road to hell.

If you call yourself a liberal and your number one vote is Hillary over Bernie, then you care more about politics than issues, which is fair. But I think it's sad.

not really, i care about issues very much, and actually getting things done. i think burning it down is a terrible idea and never works.

so whatever, we're at odds.

Bernie = Human Birkenstock
Hillery = An unlikeable politician
Trump = 1 kind of crazy
Cruz = a different kind of crazy (but I do love the gold standard - snark)
Rubio = A guy waiting for the dust to settle
Everybody else - people who can't take a hint
yawn

Clinton is going to basically agree with Bernie 90% of the time. Clinton is more entwined in big money, but so is everyone on the Rep side, including Trump though he's managed to fool some people into thinking he's somehow outside the system.

Trump embodies the system more than anyone else, imo. He's a moderately talented businessman with a real ability to promote himself. He's also a guy who has failed repeatedly and gamed the system to stay rich (as money allows for soft landings), whereas most people would slip into poverty if they made the types of mistakes he's made. He's exactly what's wrong with the system, promoting style over substance and using vast wealth to overcome repeated mistakes, garnering much more than his share of influence, not due to ideas but to the amount of money in his bank account and his rich parents. Add in the racism and he makes me want to puke.
