I actually prefer Solomon boards and bindings over burton. I've had more than a few concerns with the quality of burton and their price too. And bang for the buck, if you buy last years models you are going to save big time money. From the sound of it, you probably want to go with a board with rocker technology. These types of boards are more forgiving as you won't catch an edge as much landing a jump or just those late in the day conditions when the snow is choppy and you're tired. It will make for a good all round mountain board, however if you plan on some more extreme double black diamond chutes or bowl, not the best choice. Likewise in the park, you will want a board with greater flex for tricks.

Btw... Mammoth mountain is the place to go. Big bear is ok, never made it to Brian head, but been to all the Tahoe and southern Colorado ski areas in addition to both cottonwood valleys and park city in Utah. You should also consider az snowbowl, not a bad place as I go there probably 8-16 times a year.

Had a weird squishy sensation and then the pain went away gradually. Feeling fine now.

I have trunk or treat tonight, a wedding tomorrow, and church on Sunday. Didn't want to have to reschedule those things/find coverage while I was in the hospital. Also didn't want to pay 20% of a hospital bill.

was just sitting here thinking about all the great memories i have with my grandmother who passed away six years ago today (was at the parade when i got the news). i used to schedule my college classes so i would have either mon/weds or tues/thurs clear for lunch and a few games of parcheesi or uno with her. i wouldn't trade those days for anything.
