Midterms, Middle East & Middle America - Politics Thread

Here's something I and others may find more than a little messed up:

Image

Is this happening in other states? Have AFP and the Kochs and the Tea Party types totally lost their minds? I mean, I am second to none in calling out political consultants as mostly either incompetent or people interested in whether the donor's checks clear not actually winning elections, but this seems...I dunno. Bizarre.

Soffer is by the way a grass roots Republican activist, and he's released this because he's apparently pretty ticked off.

So sometimes practitioners do consider political science. Still, kind of creepy.

It might be legal but that does not make it any less fucked up. I loved the dude's response to AFP though. I guess you could figure out a way to shame AFP in retaliation but, obviously, they were not built with that particular emotion.

Having recently spoken with Cheney http://t.co/wInbYaeTkp, then seeing Rudy at #Klinghoffer, I ask: Why not the best? Cheney-Giuliani 2016?

Not sure if there's a more disgusting combination of people than above...perhaps if you promised to name Rush Limbaugh Secretary of State, too?

Yeah, I think we even discussed it here around the 2012 election.

Kevin Drum, who I think is one of the sharper lefty bloggers out there, diagnosed with some pretty crappy sounding cancer.

At a parade and the hick near me was 'wishing that Obama was dead'

He's a miserable, charmless prick, but Andrew Cuomo also might be the Billy Beane of cynical politicking. He basically created a fake political party with an appealing-to-progressives name to fuck over the established left-wing party… after they gave him their ballot line.

And I bet it's going to work. That's some LBJ-level stuff.

some may see those 8 words as something other than an argument

for instance, as "I'm at best indifferent to the current President being dead, but the VP becoming president would be the end of the world hahaha" kind of juvenilia; something that wouldn't good for your brand

of course you wouldn't imply any such thing but you can see how more than a few could be confused. Confused by your "argument".

He was a Charlie Rose guest recently. Insufferable. He has a Nixon feel, trustworthiness/"authenticity" wise, but he isn't & never will be as big a deal as Nixon

Here we are 9 days from Election Day and a week into early voting and I finally saw a Wendy Davis ad where she actually gets into what she'd do as governor. I guess she gave up on that "just appeal to the base" strategy.

Dannell Malloy is no world-beater, but 5 minutes of Tom Foley's mushmouthed used-car saleman patter & you want a shower

Not keen on Ebola politics generally, but I'd be fine if the Kaci Hickox thing took a bite out of Cuomo. In fact the more Christie gums it up - and he seems to be chewing furiously - the worse it probably is for Cuomo.

ROB FORD elected to his old Toronto council seat. His brother is narrowly trailing in the mayoral race.
