really need more CPAC updates, you guys. need some entertainment in this thread. i'll start us off

http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washin ... -this-year

Among the more ominous-sounding panels is the one titled "Is America Coming Apart?" The event will be hosted by libertarian political scientist and eternal optimist Charles Murray, who previously stirred controversy for his view that IQ differences cause extraordinary economic divides in the country.

Also worrisome: a panel titled "Should We Shoot all the Consultants Now?" Among those fearing for his or her life is likely Dick Morris, a political consultant so wrong about the outcome of election 2012 that he was dropped by Fox News from his commentator role in February.

There is no shortage of panels saying who is to fault for the GOP's election loss, as well as for the country's supposed demise, including one panel that blames the United Nations for ruining the "American Way of Life" and another that says conservatives need to stop "Threats, Harassment, Intimidation, Slander and Bullying" by the Obama administration.

On the cheerier side, CPAC has a panel called "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Plastic Water Bottles, Fracking, Genetically Modified Food, and Big Gulp Sodas." After big soda scored a victory over New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a New York court Monday, that panel should be even cheerier.

But winning the award for best title goes to this panel: "Are You Sick and Tired of Being Called a Racist and You Know You're Not One?" It is unclear who will be talking about the use of the race card in politics, but we are sorry to report that Ann Coulter—who recently took up race punditry—is already slotted at CPAC for a later speaking spot.

North Dakota is trying to enact a ban on abortion after six weeks. in addition to being blatantly wrong and unconstitutional, do the majority of women even know they're pregnant until at least a month in?

btw, Chris Hayes at 8pm on MSNBC? SIGN ME UP

idk, feel like BIG BEAR's hostility and general crankery was more suited for that role. hayes might lose some of his oomph on a daily show. Up is really well researched and pretty informative, i'll miss it. glad they didn't go with ezra klein at least

anything but the ed show. dumbasseristic cheerleaderism is more the province of rush & is ilk. I like ed being on the radio, because I almost never turn on a radio anymore.

agree that hayes is good in "magazine-style" bursts, and is probably not suited to be a daily program guy. A little surprised they didn't give Smerconish a crack at it

Klein has a boring delivery but is good in bursts on Maddow.

Good I now have a second show to watch on a daily basis should I choose to.

Well, it's 3 weeks until you even can know at all. I don't think the retail pregnancy tests can do it before then, plus they wouldn't have missed their periods until around then. Estmation by ultrasound size is extremely imprecise at that early time, so you're gong to get a lot of doctors relying on the low end of the margin of error to avoid absurd results.

Of course, the law won't last a month.

All Bush family members suck, starting with the traitor great grandfather right up to the present. I used to think Jeb may be not horrible, but his latest actions say otherwise.

Out of the context of this being a Monkeyboy post, this would be a pretty good candidate for "PiP / Special Category: Racism" post of the year award nominee and probable winner.

Yeah, mb isnt a bad dude, but I can tell you bush hatred there man. A bit much, though I get the sentiment behind the post that he gets a leg up in his party because of his family

Yup.

I was hoping that Ari Melber would yet the gig but I'm fine with Hayes. He and Rachel Maddow back to back will be great. Most insightful two hours on TV!
