I've got a friend who lives to friend zone dudes. I seriously think shes mostly oblivious to it since she tells me repeated stories about guys she thought she was friends with who get her gifts or ask her out and she's all like 'wat'. I've fallen prey to it before but I've known her long enough to know the deal.

I don't feel like I'm in the friend zone with every friend I would fuck, though. many, many times I will meet a girl who I would have sex with in a vacuum but decide not to go through the motions of courting, or falling in love/falling in like with, for a myriad of reasons. we just become friends

Listening to Lil' Vulture and her friends talk about boys, I know now that they learn to friend zone guys well before the boys have any clue as to what is happening.

yeah, they go a little overboard. the article title is obviously a bit sensationalist. ive found it kind of boils down to 3 types of opposite sex friends. ones you're not attracted to at all...easy to be friends with. ones you're attracted to but not enough to possibly fuck up your friendship and you deal with it...that's not really a problem either. The only real problems are the ones you're attracted to and can't really handle it. I'm too old for that shit.

I guess I feel a little silly arguing this. if the point is just a general "men are kinda hornier," then ok, but guys developing romantic feelings for their girlfriends is by no means a one way street is all I'm saying

and heck, if you even read the abstract of the study, it says that while men "feel more attraction" to their female friends, they're actually able to deal with it better and not let it effect their own relationships, while the women cited it causing dissatisfaction with their current partners, so I don't really know who's struggling with the friend zone more in that study
