disclaimer, the last half of the post was meant clearly in jest so most members of the bsg community do not believe azrider is some social degenerate. any of my friends that are on that list is clearly a coincidence and not an accurate representation of azrider's true character.

I got a couple I have to ship back east for Christmas gifts. What's the easiest/best way to ship them? I went to the post office today and none of their boxes fit(/pip). Just from a simple Google search it seems FedEx or UPS would be the way to go.

As others have mentioned, it might be easier to get someone else to pack them, though we ship them all the time. If you want to do it yourself, it's best to wrap it first in tissue paper(at least two layers) to prevent scratching. Use the minimum of tape, and seal the paper at the rear of the piece to prevent the tape from accidentally affixing to the piece or frame. Chances are the piece is recessed in the the frame, so cut cardboard to fill in exactly and build up the front until it's level. Then you can wrap it in bubble wrap. For extra security it's best to the cut two more pieces of cardboard to fit the the now large bubble wrapped pice. Choose a frame box (and these can pretty easily be found, but they're not cheap) with at least two inches on every side or the piece (So remember when you buy the box that the piece is going to be about 2" larger in height and width once you wrap it). You can use stuffed newsprint or packing peanuts (if I'm getting it, I much prefer paper) to fill in the gaps. Fill tightly, but make sure the box remains square so it's easily stacked and also doesn't exert pressure unevenly. Be sure also to cut a strip of cardboard to fit under the seam where the box is likely to be opened in order to prevent accidental damage with a utility knife when it's opened. Seal all joints on the box with packing tape.
Or, yeah, get someone to pack it for you.
