Ryan: It’s the foundation for society and for family for thousands of years. First of all, Mitt Romney and I — I’ll just say it, it’s worth repeating — we believe marriage is between one man and one woman, that’s number one. Number two, you know where I come from we had one of those amendments in Wisconsin, I was a big supporter of it and we passed it like you say, where it’s put on the ballot it passes.

A Romney administration will protect traditional marriage and the rule of law and we will provide the Defense of Marriage Act the proper defense in the courts that it deserves.
This week Romney apparently believes that it should be up to the states to decide whether or not a spouse or child of gay and lesbian men and women should have the right to visit their loved ones in the hospital. He believes that being able to visit a dying spouse in the hospital is a "privilege," not a right. Following mixed messages from Romney regarding his pledged support for the federal anti-gay-marriage amendment, Romney campaign adviser Bay Buchanan told Buzzfeed's Chris Geidner, "Governor Romney also believes, consistent with the 10th Amendment, that it should be left to states to decide whether to grant same-sex couples certain benefits, such as hospital visitation rights and the ability to adopt children."

That's probably like hundreds of dollars of gasoline per day. He also has a cool story about how his sniper shot a guy setting up a roadside bomb right through the eyeball, so I say heat up that coffee

So how does it feel to be voting for an unabashed bigot?

While I disagree with Romney/Ryan on this issue, what about his statement makes him a bigot?dictionary wrote:a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
I would say that labeling an opponent a bigot, based on a simple expression of a position, is an example of bigotry.

People think they're OK with gays but the sight of two men holding hands in public still provokes ill-feelings in many.
