Well, what I mean is... can the people who make the REAL things really be accused of also making COUNTERFEIT ones? It's like saying Native Americans make counterfeit teepees.

the COUNTRY doesn't make them. An apple plant does. It's a big country with room for other plants, too.

clear wins for Obama on women's rights, immigration reform, huge on Libya, Romney's tax plan/economy, & decent win on US jobs. Pretty decisive win for Obama. We'll see what happens with the polls.

i thought romney held up against the fire pretty well, too. but that mostly has to do with his ability to lie and move towards the center more and more than anything

One other debate diarrhea thought...if Obama needs to describe a) why the things he has done are good/working or b) why they will be better in the next four years to win...he's not doing that.

I flipped back and forth between msnbc and fox for a couple minutes. The liberals were basically celebrating. The right wingers were getting Talmudic with the parsing.

Even Bret Hume, in saying that Obama's record was "a heavy burden," added that he bore it "about as well as he could have."

Mark Blumenthal ‏@MysteryPollster
CBS News KN poll of 500 uncommitted voters. Who won? Obama 37, Romney 30, Tie 33

That's fine. Wonder what CNN's of everyone will say.

I thought he defended his record much better than he has previously, or than Biden did. Maybe that's too low a bar. The problem he has obviously is that if you're too celebratory while people are still hurting, it comes off as insensitive at best and delusional at worst.

On some level I wish he had a better defined second term agenda. But I don't remember Bush doing that in 2004--Social Security privatization was only aired after he won, which might have had something to do with his winning--and given that Republicans will oppose everything he proposes anyway, even if they otherwise support it, I'm not all that perturbed about it.
