I don't have time to see if this was posted in the last 24 hours, but did anyone else notice that the Iranian currency is absolutely tanking? It's in free fall.

Wondering how that might affect things in the election or just middle east stability.

Over and over again, Mitt Romney would attack the President on general principles, then the President would say, in so many words, “well, the implications of that view are” and start listing policy implications, and Romney would retort: no, I don’t believe any of that, in fact that stuff you say I oppose is stuff I agree with, and that stuff you say I support is stuff I absolutely will not do.

But if you didn’t watch the debate, and read the transcript, what you’d see is the following. When Romney attacked, Obama generally had a policy response – some more persuasive than others, but the response was generally policy-related. When Obama attacked, Romney would generally deny that he took the position that was being attacked.

I win. I fell asleep 10 minutes into the debate. TD's post summarizes what little I heard/saw. I gather from the posts here that Jerz is still huffing glue.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

I find myself angry at Obama. I'm sure this will fade. But that was shit and he's better than that.

he's always been labeled a pussy and this is what we should have expected.

Obama needs to watch Clinton's DNC speech 100 times before his next debate.

My favorite thing about the debate last night was how affable and respectful Obama and Romney were to one another. It was like something from another time, and to me, demonstrated leadership from both men in an era of screaming bloody murder as political discourse. (Even in regard to the subject of Obama's body language {exactly what W did in his first debate against Kerry}, Obama didn't seem to be dismissive of Romney, he just seemed to wish he were somewhere else).

I suppose, but WTF was with Obama tonight. No joie de vivre. No bounce in his step. Lots of halting "ahhhs" and "uhhhs" however. He needs to be happier, sunnier.

Basically, I am saying he should drink more.

I think Obama was trying to take an edge off his "pro debater" label and came in low. It was a calculation that missed. I could be wrong. Romney definely carried the debate, but I did not hear anything new or definitive about plans. Overall it was coma inducing.

yeah, obama was lousy. I could've done a better job on a few things (I only watched the beginning).

"so you're comparing subsidies to an established industry to subsidies to emerging technology companies which have the promise to greatly lessen our dependence on fossil fuels and lessen global warming and all the other negative environmental impacts of fossil fuels? That's like comparing subsidies to tobacco companies to funds for cancer research"

"So your plan to cut taxes on businesses sounds a lot lot bain capital- there's only one group that's guaranteed to 'get paid'- the business owners. You postulate that the middle class and the government will eventually 'get paid', but that's far from a guarantee. It's been proven that trickle-down economics only make the rich richer. THE ONLY PEOPLE GUARANTEED TO MAKE OUT WITH YOUR PLAN ARE THE BUSINESS OWNERS".

Or, "Your plan for health insurance has only two problems: The private insurance market has proven to be terribly inefficient in health insurance and is what got us into this mess in the first place; and (2) The one thing you don't mention is, after repealing ObamaCare, how you're going to insure the tens of millions of Americans without health insurance."

Thirded. I got one of his emails last night, and I briefly considered replying with a nasty message about his subpar performance.
