Yeah, I see the face-saving aspect of not having a PA loss on his record as a huge part of this.

Gingrich's $500 check for the Utah primary bounced and the state has been unable to contact his campaign using the information on the filing form. Ron Paul's losing to this guy...

Personally I'm looking forward to Gingrich, who is using the campaign as an excuse to visit zoos and sign books (and has a 0.001% shot at the nomination), complaining about not getting coverage from the biased main stream media.

Ambassadorship or maybe a cabinet spot if Romney wins

Gets to run for the nomination again and lose in 2016 if Romney loses

ok, I'm bored with domestic politics. Dunno about her politics, but this lass could provoke the Red Menace in anyone with a pulse:

Even I'm finding him harder to hate now that he's acting like a Democrat. Glad he saw the light.

The terminology is just trolling jh a bit, but the Barnegat Bay environmental plan is sound, he's released funds to Camden, he's granted relief to a few dozen historical, artistic or educational organizations whose existence was threatened. He'd done a good job of browbeating those whose funds he has no control over while maintaining the size of the state government. With the mild economic recovery there are now large amounts of funds with which he can display largesse and receive credit, whereas if they had been included in the original budget they would have gone unnoticed. While many of the actions may contradict previously implied positions, true believers are not going to jump off the bandwagon and supporters of the funding are hardly in a position to complain.

In short, he's really functioning like a New Jersey politician of any stripe (not that this is all or even mostly good-see the Rutgers scam). It's not really all that surprising, in that he himself is not an ideologue, he's just shown a surprising talent to connect with those that are, who can then energetically do the dirty work that lends him credibility by osmosis, while winning over the rest (or at least enough) of the others the old-fashioned way. The legacy will still be a poorer state, but to see how this will come about in simple terms is a mistake.

Lugar camp mocks Mourdock's 'Confederate tie', hair dye

A top aide to Sen. Dick Lugar is charging that a necktie GOP rival Richard Mourdock frequently sports on the campaign trail carries Confederate symbolism.

...

"Whether or not this exact tie is from the Ben Silver Store in Charleston, SC or someplace else, a historian would see that this tie is a take off on the Confederate Battle flag," Willkie said. "Some say that it is not exactly the thing to wear in Indiana, Lincoln's boyhood home and where the popular Indiana National Guard sees its origins directly in the Union Army."

...

"I do not own a Confederate necktie. I own two ties that are red with a blue stripe with white stars. I bought them at the Republican state convention," he said. "I don't even know how to respond. I am stunned. If you're running for class president you do something like that. I don't have anything that has a Confederate symbol on it, anything like that. That's lunacy."

In his email responding to a follow-up about the tie, Willkie also lobbed another ostensibly petty charge.

"PS, We also hear that Mourdock dyes his hair," Willkie wrote in an email. "But you be the judge. . . lol."

What. the. fuck.

Note to campaign staff: don't get drunk and email dumb things to reporters
