ING Mortgage does mortgages at 2.75% for 5/7 years. I guess I just don't know if a) property will appreciate in Northern Liberties and b) if there's enough jobs in Philly

Probably not a fair comparison but I searched for a specific type of job I qualify for and I had about 30 hits in Philly and over 200 in SF. That kinda security in SF/NYC is nice, but you're also very unlikely to be able to afford any sort of decent property.

WELL, i was looking at property in the center city west/fitler square area and boy was it expensive. 1.1m and above.

JFLNY can probably give you a good idea of pricing and what not.

even NOLIBS is expensive. townhouses in there were going for over 500k. kensington you're looking over 250 probably.

Also, I;'d think there is more competition in SF/NYC for those jobs just because there are more people there.
