You already know the political answer... Youthful indiscretion. Always is, no matter how old you are/were, only as long as it is a few years in your past.

And you're a Republican.

I think I missed that meeting. I obviously am who I think I am because Hoya was calling me out on bashing Mitt because of the way he released his tax returns just yesterday.

I don't think we'll ever see a landslide the way of Reagan-Mondale in 84 again but Obama-Gingrich might be the closest to it. If I was Obama, I'd run strictly on the "I got Osama Bin Laden" campaign.

If it ended up being Gingrich, I think a simple "I am not Newt Gingrich" campaign would probably do the trick. Obama will have to work a bit harder to beat Romney but I think Romney has pissed off (on?) enough of the commoners to give Obama another 52% win.

Assuming, of course, that Iran does not start WW III in the meantime.

Never is a long time, but I am not entirely convinced that Jesus Christ could win Alabama, Mississippi, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Alaska, South Dakota, or Arizona running as a Democrat, so I would say a blue landslide on the order of 1972/1984 is much less likely in my lifetime than a red one.

Though blue should do a lot better in the South once the baby boomers start dying off.

Arizona will turn long before the South, Moz. That's why they're fighting tooth and nail to get all the brown people out of there. I could see Obama winning Arizona this year if he gets matched with Gingrich.

And Obama won a CD and its electoral vote in Nebraska. Also, if you had told me in 2006 that a Democratic black dude with the name Obama was going to win North Carolina in 2008, I would not have believed that.

If you told me 10 years ago we'd have a leader named Barack, I'd have thought the space aliens conquered us.

If you told me 18 years ago that Newt would eventually win the SC primary and would possibly win the Republican nomination for President I probably would have believed you.

Now that I have a pp.com login I could go back and find some post that someone made on some political thread in 2004 saying that there was no way a Democrat would win NC but I won't because that would be insane.
