Holy what!?! Just heard Newt talking Space 1999 down on the space coast promising to make it real in his second term. Slapped my head so hard I think I am concussed.

Mitt Romney consents to airport screenings more peacefully than Rand Paul and Obama fist bumps random people in hallways

Probably not going to decide the election on that

May not be seen as political, but the Army is getting cut by 80,000 personnel and they are losing 8 Brigade Combat Teams.

Mitt appears to have gone from ~6-10 points down in Florida to ~2-8 points up in Florida in the past two days.

A debate without audience reaction and a few million bucks reminding people why everyone hates Newt apparently does not take long to work.

Well, I assume private jet since you don't get to sit on a chair in the middle of the tarmac when flying commercial. Private jet passangers aren't subject to TSA screenings, so I'm thinking either staged photo op or that's his shoe dog poop valet.

1) I know the Barry O pic is likely a photo op too
2) My only reason for replying was the dog poop shoe valet joke

See, you guys seeing right through the BS is why I check this thread frequently. I saw that picture and I assumed the guy in the red jacket was teaching Mitt to tie his shoes.

So Jan Brewer has some balls, huh?!?!?!

I don't know when the picture is from, but if it's from a presidential campaign (maybe last go around because he looks younger) it's probably just a travelling press photographer with the campaign. Presidential campaigns generally do not fly commercial if they can help it, and a lot of the time the press flies with the candidate they're covering. Maybe it's a staged photo op, but since that being a staged photo op seems really dumb I think a more likely explanation is different charter flight companies have different rules about passenger screening.

I liked the Space 1999 reference, and thought it was worthy of further discussion. Because you know, sometimes I get ideas. Ideas like a moon colony, or perhaps attempting to visit an exo-planet. Sometimes, I think it would be cool if we could have little computers implanted in our brains to improve memory and help us file our taxes. Other times, my ideas are less tech oriented--we could ban cars in our town and have everyone bike everywhere. Indeed, on a good day, I might have 3 or 4 ideas like that. These ideas aren't even facebook worthy. Newt, by contrast, is running for President. And every time he has an idea, he announces it like it's a policy position. Maybe it's a good strategy.
