Yeh, Mitt has plenty of his own money and the money from Superpacs to throw around. Being insanely rich has its advantages. I know I would love to have millions of dollars at my disposal. It must be nice to be born into privilege.

I wonder how far Romney would be behind if he had to rely on his wits, personality, and ideas.

It looks like JH's team is gonna bloody each other so badly that there will be no chance in November. Pyrrhic Primary.

JH should do a research paper or a dissertation on whether the victor of a competitive primary has a better or worse chance at the Presidency than a nominee who won more or less by acclimation. I don't even remember if Gore's victory was tougher than Bush's. Of course, it will depend I suppose in part on how you operationalize the independent variable.

Hillary is done; hadn't seen this here so I thought I would post it:

I thought she did a pretty damn good job as SOS and I think Obama will miss her. Really.

Gore's victory in 2000 was much easier. Gore only had one opponent--Bill Bradley--and never lost a single primary. McCain gave Bush some trouble until South Carolina and still managed to win a handful of primaries afterwards.

Romney isn't spending any of his own money on the campaign this time around.

My senior thesis was about competitive primaries in gov and senate primaries and their effect on general election results. Wish I kept my excel data on it. Now that I actually understand regression I would like to have another go at it.

Yes, the Republican candidates all have a hard on for budget cutting until Obama actually proposes budget cuts. The NASA is our future, the military would be eviscerated, all pharmaceutical research will be forever canceled.
We now know that Amaro really is running the Phillies. He and Monty seem to have ignored the committee.

She can be Vice President, that's a very restful job. I agree with the poster who said she looked bad during SOU. Either she was sick, or she's aged about a decade since running for President.

Mine is not a majority opinion, nor is it supported by anything like hard evidence, but I have a feeling this announcement doesn't mean what you may think it means

the more the debaters talk about taxes, the clearer it becomes that none of them has much idea at all about governing, or about the workings of most human societies since the dawn of time

paul neatly slams both Newt & Mitt's rapey economic behavior in the same sentence. Basically, he feels both are "unproductive"
