Exactly Bake, the instant oatmeal packets are horrible, but real oatmeal is good as hell. Pinch of salt to bring out the flavor, a little dark brown sugar and you're in the money. Also, who ever heard of cream of wheat cookies.

I'm open to this suggestion but don't see it being better than cream of wheat.

I could just add raisins and honey to my cream of wheat. But I don't need to, it's delicious even in its purest form unlike oatmeal
