Anyone know of someone who flew to the wrong city by mistake like Portland, Maine instead of Portland, Oregon. Or Moscow, Idaho instead of Moscow, Russia?

On The Lucy show, Fred Mertz booked the Ricky Ricardo band into the wrong city in Europe.

One thing that can happen is to fly to the wrong airport. New York City has like three airports and Houston has two. One is named Houston Hobby which sounds like an airport you'd really want to avoid.

When you fly to Seattle the Airport is called Sea-Tac which is like Seattle-Tacoma but the airport isn't in Seattle or Tacoma but rather a city named Seatac -- the city was named for the airport.

I flew to San Jose, Costa Rica and it took me a while to figure out that the people at the Texas airport where I changed planes didn't just assume that's where I was going. But I think I ended up in the right spot, unless California as has a better rain forest than I had thought.

Hey, there's one in Illinois too I wonder how they pronounce it?

Cairo in Illinois is pronounced "Kay-ro" and New Madrid in SE Mo is "New MAD-rid" so I'd say they pronounce it "San Jo-SAY" there.

Wikipedia says it's pronounced /sæn ˈdʒoʊz/ .

Yes they do.

It's called Sea-Tac.

Des Moines is right next to Sea-Tac which is right north of Federal Way which is the home of that Ohno skater guy.

In Full House, Michelle and Stephanie go to Auckland, New Zealand as opposed to Oakland. I don't remember how they got on the flight with no ticket though.
