Murakami is the biggest artist in the world, rivaled maybe... no, not even close, by Hirst and Richter. none of you guys know him, but he makes more than LeBron, Kobe, ARod, Howard, Chris Johnson, the guy on the Devils, just throw whoever you want in there, combined, times two

not saying he's the BEST artist, or even close, but he is a big huge freaking deal

I wouldn't trade Plax for all his dollars, though

lady gaga is a big deal too, but i loathe.

anyway, i'll have to check out some of his work

I've heard of Hirst, and even know he's the guy with the shark preserved in formaldehyde. I think it's interesting that you can monetize your work more than Puff Daddy or that Painter of Light guy and still be considered a "museum" artist. I guess your reputation depends on who purchases your art more than anything else.
