I'm going to adapt some of the CIA's Central American tactics to take care of the panhandler situation on my walk to work. The plan is to tell each one (they're a very consistent bunch, there everyday in the same spots) that I gave the guy closest to them $50 and told him to split it with everyone on the street. I'm hoping this incites dissent amongst their ranks. Eventually, there will be some sort of vagrant coup d'etat. Ideally the bloodshed involved will reduce their numbers. Other hobos will hear the story of the white yuppie who, with one comment, caused conflict. I'll soon be able to walk to work without shaking my head at all the guys asking me for change.

if you nail it to the ground will your landlord pay half

I'm getting it!!!!

You definitely should. When we were buying our current house, the previous owners had a similar bar in the backyard, though fairly old. When we were negotiating, we had our realtor ask if they'd leave it for us. Turns out they didn't want to move it so they left it for free (or you could say they charged us $300,000 for it, I suppose). Anyway, I sanded it and painted it and it's good as somewhat kinda new. It's awesome for entertaining. And drinking. Best of all, the first time I sat in one of the bar stools, I looked into our house and could see our tv perfectly.

I watch a lot of Phils games sitting out on that table, drinking beer, ignoring my children and getting savagely attacked by mosquitoes. It's blissful.

Oh, that one. Yeah, it still earns a facepalm just reading about it.

Seems like one of the few things you could safely put in a politics thread, since I don't know anyone outside of those five guys and people with money on the table that liked it.

I've always wondered if you can only see every other skit or how it works there. Interested to hear your report

I have to pass a second test(I already passed an online test), they're going to take my information, and they're going to look at my tv presence.

If I pass the second test, I get put into the contestant pool for 18 months and wait for a phone call invite to the show.

I've been to a taping before. It depends where you sit. I sat all the way on the side, so a few sketches were on the other side of the studio, and even though I could kinda see, I watched on the TV screens. Other sketches were right in front of me. One of the cooler parts of the live taping is seeing all the chaos that happens in between commercials.

The first time I went, it was the dress rehearsal. Arcade Fire performed and I heard later that after the live taping, they stuck around and played like 4 songs for the audience and cast. I'm going to the live taping this time. The musical guest is Jessie J who I hadn't heard of until this morning.

She intimidates me and makes me feel uncomfortable, like someone from the British version of Skins. I like her.
