I'll hit up either one if I'm traveling somewhere I don't know the local options. I guess it's a toss-up between them. I used to say Quiznos because of the toasting, but they do that at Subway now too.

I can't get over that awful smell inside a Subway shop. And it's the same smell inside each one. That sweet, bready scent that soaks into your clothes.

You make it sound so awful...

My main prblem is the ordering experience. Quiznos feels too rigid for my tastes and I've had rude service at several. The only time I can remember rude service at a Subway was one that was inside a Walmart so I barely count it.

Here is the thing about Subway. Dumb people like to talk about how great of a deal the 5 dollar footlong is. After you make it a meal with chips and soda, you're looking at about an 8 dollar lunch. The thing is, if you go to a deli, you're bound to get double or triple the meat for about a dollar more than the Subway sandwich. And you probably won't even be able to finish the deli sandwich, so you take it home for another meal. Pay the extra dollar for the better quantity and quality.

feel like any hoagie place that has a smidgeon of a good rep cashes in and charges like 7.50 for a footlong so I'm not sure if I totally agree

I don't think anyone has ever really advocated for making a special trip to subway, it's just not that bad, perfectly fine even, if you find yourself in a food court situation or whatever and hit up a subway

Or if the only places in the 5-minute range from work happen to be fast food joints or strip mall chinese. I could call in an order to a pizza place but the lack of parking kinda makes it feel like more trouble than it's worth.

Our Quiznos sucks. Slow and bad service. Workers aren't trained or supervised. I won't go there anymore. I honestly haven't been to Subway in months and months. Generally, if I'm getting a fast food lunch, I'll hit up Micky Ds or one of our mom and pop hamburger joints before I go to Subway.

I rep the BK. bacon cheeseburger for a buck. Reminds me of when Wendy's wasn't the worst food around.

This discussion made me brave enough to enter Walmart and go to the Subway today. Only other choices close enough are Chick-Fil-A, Arby's and greasy pizza, so I'm happy to have added that option.

Baked BBQ chips make it that much specialer. And we have a fridge full of sodas at work so I don't have to worry about my one gripe at Subway, that drinking from their cups always tastes of soap, for some reason.
