If there were a politics thread, I'd mention that interwebs and 24 hours news and stuff aren't sufficient to keep a government from violently cracking down on protesters. If Mubarak had control of the Egyptian army, we'd be seeing a different story there now, twitter or not.

I wonder if Vox would permit a thread for discussing political upheaval in the Arab world if it didn't touch on domestic politics.
