I've been to Billings, which is sort of unappealing unless you like high desert and cold winters with occasional thaws thanks to chinook winds. People there seemed to spend a lot of time morel hunting.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Is it still legal to speed as fast as you can in Montana during daylight in dry conditions? I remember reading a story that the fine was $5 and people carried rolls of $5 bills to pay officers when they got pulled over. It was just commonly accepted because there was so much land and not that many people.

Ahh, here's the article in Time Mag that I remember reading back in college.

I wonder if Vox would permit a thread for discussing political upheaval in the Arab world if it didn't touch on domestic politics.

Maybe we need a "We need a political thread" thread.

Someone probably already beat me to this observation, but I am 99.9% certain the decision to eliminate the politics thread was driven by a conspiracy to give BigEd a fighting chance to catch jerseyhoya in terms of post count before the end of the next century.

Remember we had some sort of discussion about lack of stretching causing the Phillies injuries? (or maybe it was just Rollins or Howard or something).

I know you're not serious, but I saw this note on the elevator news screen on the way up to work tonight that reminded me of that thread and this post reminded me of the news I read.

I'd pay like 25% more for Tastykake Kandy Kakes if they were individually wrapped.

The word "assumption" gets a bad rap. Whenever you mess up and say "I guess I assumed" then the standard reaction is "You know what happens when you assume, right? You make an ass out of you and me." But people make plenty of good assumptions. Assumptions are a necessity in life and not necessarily bad, despite the popular phrase.
