Random Thoughts, Anniversary Edition (c)

Postby PrattRules » Wed Sep 08, 2010 21:18:56

I saw the second greatest fall of my life on Sunday night. I was holding the limbo pole up for a few of the girls when one started stumbling after she crossed the pole. I knew the fall was imminent. She reached for the beer pong table and put her hand on it. Her momentum caused her to put all her weight on the beer pong and it caved like the WWF Spanish broadcasting table. The table broke in half with her at the bottom. I fell down laughing and didn't feel bad at the time, because I was pretty Wertzed. Sucks for my friend who had his beer pong table specially designed.

The best fall of my life is a little more concise. A drunk girl fell all the way down the steps at a frat house and her beer landed on her face. Nothing will ever beat that.

This is so cool...

I want to burn my house down. I've got to make some kind of lasting and regrettable statement.

UNDER CONTSTRUCTION:

Smaller Image of Light Cycle. In the meantime, PM PhatJ for a description of the electric blue LED pin stripes and black chrome paint job.

How about you make a statement like posting a smaller version of that?

I received deployment orders for Afghanistan, will be there in the first week of December.

(is that random enough?)

Who you gonna be with?
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

you wont be able to

Friend of mine worked as a sub for five years before finally getting a regular teaching job in the same district.

If you're willing to move, there are teaching jobs all over the place. I'm sure you could get a job in Philly. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, imho.

speaking from experience it is worse than people make it out to be.

I guess I wasn't there for a full year like you probably were, but I didn't think it was that bad. It's tough, but more rewarding than where I work now, which is in one of the richest counties in the country. In Philly, it's all about finding a hook and building relationships with the kids. Of course, there's a fair amount of resistance to that. I don't know, I liked it. Maybe it would wear on me if I did it for a few years or something. But maybe you'll get hooked -- it's been known to happen. If not, you would be battle-tested and a more attractive hire to somewhere else.

That's my two cents.

This is obviously me hypothesizing out my ass, but I wonder if people who grew up in the city fare better in that environment than people who didn't.

I know being a student isn't being a real person by any stretch of the imagination, but two straight days up before 8 and a third looming tomorrow is a serious upgrade in life difficulty. Especially since I've probably got another hour and a half of reading.

So of course I'm posting here and watching videos of Colbert.

I guess the thing I have the hardest time with is realizing people wake up way earlier than this on a regular basis.

Hell I used to get up at 6:15 every day in high school. I guess I went to bed before two then.
