car was broken into today while cliff jumping.

they stole my ipod and cell phone. they apparently didnt' bother to open up my center console and steal my wallet. or look in the passenger door panel to steal my friends iphone/ipod/wallet/keys.

but they did open my trunk and attempt to steal my two amplifiers. they were unsuccessful in taking them. if they opened up my center console they would have gotten my screwdriver and stole my head unit and amps.

made an insurance claim, but i don't think i'll accept anything. deductible is higher than anything is worth if i can fix the amps.

Sounds like you should've left your cell and ipod in the center console too, but that sucks.... :|

So my Verizon Wireless contract runs out this week and I'm looking at the Droid phones. Anyone got the original, the Incredible or the X....or know someone that does?

friend was saying that the X isn't modifiable because of some dumb motorola stuff. the incredible is pretty incredible.

if you're done with verizon and open to spring, grab the evo. top dog on the market right now.

There's also the LG Ally (I work for LG and that is my obligatory mention of our Android device). But srsly, here's the skinny: Droid is bulky and already out of date. HTC Incredible is indeed incredible, but due to manufacturing issues affecting inventory, currently hard to find. The X is spec-heavy and quite nice, but it's LARGE. LG Ally is mid-range spec-wise, and more for the person who wants a smaller messaging-type droid.

My employment situation aside, the HTC Incredible would be my choice because the screen is large without being redic large like the Droid X, and the processor is plenty fast. The inventory issues might be clearing up now, so call your store and see if they have them in. Also, the Droid 2 is due out sometime soon. Consult your local google search engine for more details.

Any rumors of a powerful Android phone in a little smaller form factor? I'm thinking like a follow-up to the Hero.

I've had the Voyager for 2 years and it's good enough for what I do (plus I like the QWERTY keyboard on it for texting), so I may just renew my current plan without upgrading the phone, but I have that "New Every Two" deal if I wanted to jump to something else. I saw the Droid X at Best Buy yesterday and thought the same thing....too bulky even though it's thin....

Re: phatj's question

Yes. Not going to say which manufacturer, but Q3 and Q4 should see more than 1 Android fitting that mold.

The next few months will be teeming with new/better Androids, so don't feel rushed.

Other than checking my gmail on a friend's phone and checking the Phillies score last night at the bar to see Lidge blew it, I was off line for almost 60 consecutive hours while in DC this weekend.

Anything earthshattering happen?

I was at the Phillies game, so I saw that. It was sad that they had to shoot him on the field like that. At least they used a tarp as a shield so we didn't have to watch.

My sister spent a good chunk of the afternoon stalking the cast and sent me a picture of Ronnie and Sammi on the boardwalk.

Anyone know how long I'd have until I'd have to get my license and plates updated when I move to North Dakota? Is there a normal time period or does it vary by state?

I'm assuming this is a permanent or semi-permanent move...

Are you filing for mail-forwarding? If so, you'll probably need to change it within a couple months (insurance company finds out). Otherwise, states generally have a set time within which you're supposed to update it, but you could probably wait until your current registration is about to run out before doing so.

On two other notes, check insurance rates because it might be cheaper to change it right away if the decrease in premium is great enough. Secondly, if you're on a loan that is about to be paid off, you might want to convert it before you're issued a title--especially if you think you're going to move back to PA at some point. It's a lot easier to re-register in PA if you have a PA-title than if you've re-titled the car in a different state.

Yeah, it's going to be at least a year, probably longer.

Thanks, a lot of things I gotta check into, I guess.
