The heat will kill you. It's disgusting out from late April through November every year.

There's a ton of stuff to do other than beaches and clubs, but it's a hassle driving anywhere. But, then if you live within walking distance, you're going to be all sweaty by the time you get anywhere.

Thanks. There's a job at UM I'm interested in, but I don't think it would work out due to the heat.

Well the chance you'll become an in shape tanboy after a year is still technically a possibility.

The heat sucks. Working at UM, though I'm admittedly biased, would be amazing. Coral Gables is a great place to live, the drive times would be cut, and there are tons and tons of hot girls there. Plus, UM will let you take classes for free (maybe all schools do that, not sure). Everything is air conditioned, but yea, going outside during the summer isn't all that much fun. Thankfully, you'll be working during the worst of the heat, although it never cools off at night, it just gets dark out.

I'd go back down to Coral Gables for the right job in a heartbeat. I doubt I'd ever live on the beach again.

oh yea...and i don't know how you are about driving/drive times, but if you were willing to do it, and tons of people do, you could live in fort lauderdale which is probably more what your looking for environs wise. i considered doing it myself, but i got a great deal on the beach and couldn't justify the longer drive. in hindsight, i should have. cheaper living and a much better place to live. the drive is variable though, 30-60 minutes each way and you'll have to plan your drive around avoiding rush hour.

a couple guys jumped me a step from my apartment, they kept saying i was 'calling the cops' and beat me up, threw me down an embankment then took my wallet. i had it because i had to use it for ID once and just never took it out

cancel cell phone too, if they took that. do all of this as quickly as possible, they may be trying to use your cards very quickly knowing you will cancel soon. usually most banks give you a grace period but call them ASAP

i'd get in contact with these people...not sure if you are eligible for compensation of some sort but they may be able to help you. something similar happened to my roommate 2 months ago and i put him in contact with these guys. you'll def need the police report too
