it was a club on mcdade in woodlyn. Circa 1982, 1983 my band used to play sunday night "teen nights" there. We were like GODS. Delaware County high school girls FTW. (I was only like 19!). I think that may have been your age bracket. You wouldn't have liked us, though. Sprigsteen, Beatles, etc. I think the hardest tune we did was Baba O'Riley. I played this little handheld casio for the synth riff. It sounded perfect.

pleasepleaseplease say it was a keytar

nah, not that cool at all. It was actually a casio VL-1. Those two square blue buttons on the top right can be used to singe-step through a programmed sequence. So we set up the synth riff on a sequence, and I just tapped it out on those two keys. Made it possible for the tempo to sway ever so slightly (or not so slightly) to stay in sync with a live drummer. Was a much better solution than having the drummer try to stay on time with the sequence (which even Keith Moon couldn't pull off).

EDIT: Oh, and it was sitting on top of my keyboard rig, so unless anyone really came up close to check it out, it didn't look like I was playing a toy.

Quite possibly the saddest IMDB profile or acting "career" ever.

Atom and his package (from Philly) had a nice little run using a Casio

so thanks, obamacare and medicare. My wife just got hit with a 20% pay cut. Which further widens the comically absurd disparity between my HS-graduate-IT-worker salary and my wife's multiple-doctorate MD salary.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/2 ... 49825.html

Ronnie Lee Gardner, 49, was given the choice of being killed by lethal injection or shot by a five-man team of executioners firing from a set of matched rifles – a rarely used method of execution that harkens back to Utah's territorial history.

Utah has made this option unavailable in the future but guys on death row at the time the law was passed can still request death by firing squad. I think there are a few left.

Gary "Let's do it" Gilmore was made this method pretty famous but that was back in '77.

That's awesome. I would definitely pick firing squad. Do they offer you a blindfold and cigarette still?

Good info here. Probably no smokes but you get a hood over the head.

You should also use Breaker Morant's famous (although perhaps fictional) last words: "Shoot straight, you bastards! Don't make a mess of it!"
