me and my two friends cobbled together 22 cover songs in a span of three weeks so we can play his barbecue Sunday. i don't think i've been this energized musically...ever. it's pretty great.

downside is that i think our guitar player/singer/talent was pretty down on making any creative progress last year, so i think if anything comes of this we're just gonna be a 3-piece cover band. which is okay. but still.

Another thing to bitch about:

I applied to a job yesterday that was pretty much ideal for what I want to do, except its located in Iowa City. I figured, this is the job I'll get, one I like, but in a shitty location. Then I researched IC and realized that it might be a great place to start a career and the city/town is, despite being in the middle of nowhere, a pretty interesting place with guaranteed hot midwestern girls running about (University of Iowa's main campus is in Iowa City). So with that out of the way, I'm convinced I won't get the job.

Really a fun mindset to be in.
