My understanding is that if you are using a proportional font, it's one. If you're using a non-proportional font (like you would find on a typewriter) then it's two.

Approximately 12 hours ago I was pretty close to becoming quite possibly the first person in the history of the world to get arrested for WUIJGGDCCS (Walking under the influence just to get a god damn coca cola slurpee).

Seriously there is a 7-11 not even 3 blocks from my house.

As I understand, two spaces are teh proper (as I was taught by the ninja nuns in Catholic school). One space is an internet thing, being eurocentric and that's how it's done in France. Actually, I think it's a computer age thing as all browers et al parse it to one space, most likely due to issues like justification and kerning (space adjustments softwares do so proportional fonts aren't crappy looking).

BTW, out of habit I always type two spaces, but it only shows as one space here.

This really. Two was almost correct during the typewriter era, because , well, you want to make it clear to the reader where a sentence ends, same with a colon where it's a full stop. The only correct thing is that you want a thicker space after a period than the spaces in the rest of the text, and you don't want an extended gap that brings attention to itself. Whatever way your printing technology does this is fine.

I tend to use two since that's the habit I have, but if I use this in descriptions at work than it screws up the format when it's printed, so then i go with one.

there's no absolute rule, but the above is correct. important to note that both the AP and Chicago style manuals recommend one space after sentences.%nbsp;

just saw a Toy Story 3 commercial and was like, "wait, how are they gonna replace Jim Varney as Slinky Dog?"

so i researched it, totally ready to be totally angry about how they handled it

but it turns out they replaced him with Blake Clark, aka Chet Hunter from Boy Meets World (Shawn Hunter's dad) and some dude named Harry in Home Improvement [presumably one of the hardware store cronies of Tim Allen (not dead! and also a major player in Toy Story!)], Drew Barrymore's dad in 50 First Dates and Farmer Fran from The Waterboy.

in other words, Pixar wins again

The fact that multiple people on my facebook feed have posted things "courtesy of "xyz" at backshegoes.com" is something.
