If an MRI would show the same things they look for on a bone scan, they might just do that to kill two birds with one stone, but as I understand it the bone scan can show some things that other scans can't.
Anyway, the oncologist called today and said that they wanted to go ahead and do the bone scan. Apparently this is pretty common for former breast cancer patients because it's not unusual for the cancer to metastasize to the bones.
