I guess, I'm pretty lucky with them being liberal with illegal substances(actually I'm the connection for my one wacky uncle) and with the whole job market thing. My mom is currently unemployed and can't find a job either, so it makes it easier for them to empathize with me since my mom is kind of going though the same deal.
My buddy's dad recently caught him smoking a blunt, requested a hit, and now apparently they smoke together sometimes. I think my dad is pretty receptive to it, and my mom is pretty indifferent to it as an issue--but still, I feel weird doing it in their house. I'm pretty sure neither of them smokes, though I'm certain their friends do whenever we're at parties with them. So unless I catch them first, I'm going to try not to let them catch me.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America
Yeah, I smoke with my uncle when I deliver said goods to him, but it's still ridiculously awkward whenever it happens. I strongly recommend against it.

Digital pianos rule. My parents bought me a nice one years ago and it's awesome. Plays and sounds just like a real piano, then push a button and it's a harsichord, or pipe organ, or several other things. Plus (this is so key when you have kids) you can turn down the volume, or use headphones, or turn it off entirely.

they're also really cheap right now. I still enjoy my Korg DS-8 circa 1990 and the place we jam at has an ok Yamaha with wicked drum beats since we can't seem to find a regular human drummer.
