First, what was the "innocent" intention of this e-mail?

Second, anyone have a good foodbank they think does good work around the holidays? It's donation time.

I didn't want to say it either. But I can't imagine sending an email update to 70 people about what I'm doing with my life. Unless it was to announce that I'm having a kid or something. Even then, that would be phone-call worthy I would think.

My nana used to send a typewritten family letter of achievement. One year it referenced me staying up late to watch Saturday Night wrestling.

Was it sent in a christmas card? I've seen that. I actually receive 3 such family update Christmas letters.

I volunteer with high school kids through this Christian ministry. People who support us, other leaders, and kids who have graduated from the schools I work with enjoy hearing how things are going.

The ones I've received focus on the kids' achievements, mostly because I suppose it's hard to remember what grade everyone's in, etc.

Congrats to Trent. Hopefully it's a job where you can work from home and post on BSG all day. Are you going corporate?

Ok. I used to get emails from people updating me on where they're working, how their intramural soccer was going, etc, from people I was only sort of friends with. I didnt ask to be removed from the list or anything, but I always felt weird receiving the email, since I knew I was closer to person #70... basically, the friend right at the cutoff for whether I was included as a recipient or not.

I don't mean to make you feel bad. I mean, it's just an email, and I'm sure most of the recipients really like reading it.

Also, I more meant what was the innocent intention of the subject line... but I guess you were trying to say it (volunteering) is in your Genes

My wife told me the other night that when she's pregnant, I'll have to take sole responsibility for cleaning out the cat litter box. Evidently cat crap has some bacteria to it that can wreck pregnancies for women with certain genetic susceptibility, which (she says) she's been tested to have.

I think this story might well be made up, but I'm also sufficiently impressed that she came up with it that I might just go along rather than, say, asking for some kind of medical corroboration...

It also occurred to me last night that when you have a kid, you have to feed her/him every day. What's up with that?

If it's made up, it's the biggest conspiracy known to man. I agreed to get a cat on one condition: that I didn't have to clean the litter box. Then I took over those duties when she was pregnant. A year post partum, I'm still scooping cat piss and shit

Okay, the fact that either it's real and other men have been reduced to cleaning up after perversely indifferent pets for valid medical reasons, or it's false and other men have been suckered, makes me feel better. Thanks.

Apparently it's the danger of TOXOPLASMOSIS, which is something that cats get from eating wild rodents and birds. Now I'm pissed off because we have a Siamese cat that has never stepped a foot outdoors. It sleeps under the covers and is generally more domesticated than me.

I think toxoplasmosis is what they are afraid of contracting.

That is what killed Tommy in Trainspotting. It effects those with weakened immune systems and those that are pregnant.

Edit - Up yours Woody.

My girlfriend moved in with me and brought her 2 dogs. They're little dogs and generally use a pee pad to do their business. One of them cleans up after herself by eating her poop. Maybe I should treat that as a good thing so I don't have to clean it up, but I think its a bad thing.

Congrats Trent, that's awesome. The big law lifestyle will wear anyone with a shred of a soul to a nub in just a few short years. Great job getting out of there.

As a small firm lawyer... TAKE ME WITH YOU OK THANKS.

Well my sister and her boyfriend were having a party this weekend and probably still will but he definitely has the swine flu.

It was a fun idea about maybe going to Harrisburg for it but now I kind of doubt it. I can't get sick right now.

Isn't there like some kind of party etiquette that you can cancel if you get the swine flu and change the day?
