You get points for every pound of trash the municipality recycles (in someplaces you get points based on what YOU recycle, but our trucks don't have the barcode readers). But unfortunately the points reward system is pretty useless.

I've done OK from the points. A local Home Depot has coupons for $5 off a $25 purchase (50 points) and $20 off a $100 purchase (200 points). Also a $10 home depot gift card is 1,000 points. For perspective, I get about 100 points a week (we have the barcodes).
