If you wanna post some mp3 snippets somewhere or send me the CD, I'll have the wife take a listen. If she can't ID them all, I'll take it to one of her friend's parties and that will be the high point of the evening for them.

So you can realize how much fun I have at these parties.

It's google's fault. There is like 1000 times a day something will pop into my head and I will think "I need to google that". I usually remember what to google but remembering to turn the oven off just isn't important enough to remember.

But I even forget what I wanted to google lots of times!!!

Take right now. I'm on this neptune-awful con call which is scheduled to end at 11. I need to call my doc to reschedule my appt for tomorrow as soon as this call is over. So how much do you wanna bet that I'll get a phone call from my doc tomorrow morning trying to find out where I am??

Thanks for the offer -- I can probably work on it myself, since I have the CDs that they came from, I just wanted the quick way.

EDIT: And wow, that is why Vox and I don't go to, or have, parties...

Oh this was something I wanted to post but forgot. Nobody is going to care but I wanted to put this out there because at the time it was the funniest thing ever.

Last week me and my friend were leaving a bar. Right across the street there is a house on a little hill. My friend says something like "hey look there that guy is up there puking in that yard".

He was and the lady that owns came storming out with a broom(SWEAR TO GOD) and starts screaming "don't barf in my bush" over and over. The guy just kept on barfing in her bush. I won't ever go back there but seriously is that a you had to be there moment?

Here's another for all you folks... any opinions on the sightseeing tour buses in NYC?

We're taking the kids to NYC for VoxJr's birthday. Must-do's are the Nintendo store and the Times Square Toys R Us, because he gets to pick out his birthday present. We vetoed the Statue of Liberty because of time constraints, and the elevator is broken right now instead the Statue (yeah, I'm NOT hauling BabyVox up 10 flights of stairs).

We did the Top of Rockefeller Center in May. Have thought of Empire State Building, we're waiting to see what the weather is going to be.

Museum of Natural History is on the short list of things to do if it's raining. Art museums are OK, too, if they are as kid-friendly as the Philadelphia Museum is... (IMO, it's very kid-friendly except for the special exhibits).

Restaurant ideas are welcome too.

Have you considered FAO Schwartz instead of Toys-R-Us? I don't know if there's anything special about the TRU in Times Square but FAO Schwartz is the bee's knees.

Empire State Building is definitely worth the trip if you have the time (depending on when you go, the line could be quite long). Of course if it's raining or very cold probably best left for another time.

The Toys R Us in Times Square is pretty titties also, I do believe. 60 foot ferris wheel, life size T-rex, etc. And FAO is now owned by Toys R Us--your Cliff Claven fact of the day
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Museum of Natural history is great, but if you don't have a plan, it's overwhelming. We took Lil' Vulture there last summer, and it definitely wore her out. If you're kids have seen Night at the Museum, they will probably want to see stuff from that movie. And, I can't imagine not seeing the dinosaurs. Lil' Vulture was fascinated by the prehistoric man exhibits, in part because prehistoric man (and woman) were naked.

When we go back, I'd try to work in a planetarium show, mostly because it will get everyone off their feet.

Didn't think of FAO Schwartz, but if it's got that huge stuffed animal section like the one in KoP had (has?), I'll have to steer far clear. VoxJr LOVES stuffed animals and would go crazy. Toys R Us is the second choice, it's most likely he'll get stuff from the Nintendo store (he knows he's getting a present from us, but Vox's mom is giving him money for the trip, which he doesn't know about yet). I'm also hoping that I can track down some GeoTrax for BabyVox if we get to go to Toys R Us.

FAO Schwartz in NYC is also right beside the Apple Store. It is huge, I imagine that the stuffed animal collection is very large as well.

TRU has the huge ferris wheel.

Nintendo store is right near me, you can play games there.

No idea about the museums.

Not sure about kid friendly restaurants. There's a PB&J restaurant that might be fun. All they sell is peanut butter sandwiches http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com/

Here's a random toy store with lots and lots of figurines and random stuff from Asia http://www.toytokyo.com/index.php/page/content/id/23

Don't know if you'll have time, but the Bronx Zoo is really fun at Christmas time. They have holiday lights, so they string up lights in the shapes of animals all over the zoo. I don't see any reference to it on the web site right now though.

No opinion of the sightseeing tours, but I know they're really expensive (like 50+ bucks a person).

These 2 are handy resources. http://nymag.com/family/kids/ and http://newyorkkids.timeout.com/
