My buddy Has a family photo with him wearing a Cowbows t-shirt. Another friend was a big Deion fan so he liked the 49ers and Braves. Yet another was a diehard Packers fan until about '99-'00 or so. They are all now huge Eagles fans. I don't know if I've put all this together before now, but I remember the excitement in my blood when the Eagles got a safety at New Orleans in the Wild Card playoffs in '92, and I remember how shitty the '93 season was. I am, without question, the longest tenured and most loyal Eagles fan of all my friends. I should get a medal.

How about Lofa Tatupu?

I actually have no other reason to suggest this other than I love to say Lofa Tatupu and I kinda say what I'm typing in my head so typing Lofa Tatupu serves the same function as saying it.

When I'm in the car I like to sing Nino Espinosa's name to the tune of Gary , Indiana.

That Jeter thing in the Onion is funny, but almost always, Onion headlines are funnier than the articles. Deadspin is better.

I like Lofa, but only because Football Outsiders was hyping him as a rookie. I'm not really a big fan or anything.

Dude, I have no idea kids why wore Cowyboys and Dolphins Starter jackets around Philly, but they did. At least of these guys in every 3rd grade class.

Wow, really? Deadspin is probably the only site I dislike enough to avoid clicking on links just to deprive them of half a cent. It's so damned sub-juvenile and anti-intellectual, I hate it. It's only good when someone guest edits. Maybe it got better in the last six months, idk

Deadspin's hit or miss for me, and I used to read it everyday. It's got decent running features sometimes. The "Why Your Ballpark Sucks" thing they have going now is good because it's informative and interesting. I read Big Daddy Drew's thing because he occasionally says something hilarious. And the Fire Joe Morgan reunion this week was fantastic, but that's because it was all written by guys who get paid money to write funny things for rich people.

The comments are unreadable. They remind me of working for Penn State's humor magazine, where no one could appreciate a good joke without trying to outdo it. Deadspin's commenters are basically high school girls with a cadre of Simpsons references and scat jokes in tow.

A guy on the El walked through with a cup asking for "money, food, anything," saying he hadn't eaten all day. I had a sandwich left over from lunch. I offered it to him. He asked what was on it. I said turkey and cheese. He said, "Oh, I don't eat turkey" and walked away.

I don't really know why, but I felt like cursing him out. What a piece of shit. Now, whenever some a-hole on the street asks me for money, I'm just going to offer him a sandwich and see what he says.

I don't read deadspin's comments. What I like about is the witty headlines, followed by short articles, suitable for my attention span. And, the fact that it's kind of dumb doesn't matter much to me. It's sports. I also listen to Maddog radio on Sirius more often than I'd like to admit.

I missed the Ensor show at Moma. Kept putting it off and now I can't go this, it's final, weekend. He's my favorite artist. I r dumb, as I have proven repeatedly.

That's the thing with Deadspin, though; most of the time it's not sports. I remember Will Leitch justifying what they do by comparing athletes and TV personalities to celebrities, basically saying that actors know it comes with the territory, so athletes and ESPN talking heads need to understand that too.

Which is complete and utter horse shit. Yeah, it's all entertainment. But someone who really likes film, or really likes music, or really likes TV does not give a fuck about what Christian Bale, Kanye West and Tina Fey are doing with their personal lives. I love what Ryan Howard does on the field, but I don't give a crap if he bangs 13 hot blonde chicks every night he goes out on the town.

However, when Deadspin sticks to sports, it's very good.

You should have bit him.

(that's the punchline from a really old joke that I barely remember but Swish or TV or Doc probably do).

How about a real obscure guy? Like the long snapper for the Houston Texans. If I wore stuff like that that's probably what I'd do.

If you get this hypothetical jersey, you will wear it outside of your home exactly once.

Oh I don't know. Up here in the great northwest folks would probably get a big kick out of it. They're different around these parts.
