I'm there nite of 24th, if you have good lodging rec's, let's hear them. Also, places to watch the Phillies game, please research that.

Oddly enough, we leave Florence on the 23rd. Staying here:

The owners have been fantastic in helping us set up reservations for museums, dinner, etc.

one quick thing. I dunno what kind off holiday either of you have planned, and specifically if there are kids involved who you have to keep amused, but if at all possible, I would stick to seeing no more than two big sights in a day. Spend the rest of your time walking around. It's a very walkable city.0

For most of my life, I've wondered when they would update the design of the schoolbus. They've looked exactly the same since the '70s.

Today I saw a "modern" schoolbus. Still yellow, but all angular with tinted windows. I wanted to vomit with horror.

Yeah, they're weird-looking. Not really much you can do, as it's basically a box on wheels. Especially when you're dealing with shoestring budgets.
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

Four weeks after my surgery, with very little else from it still bothering me, I found a few minutes ago that it still hurts like a mother fucker to sneeze. :q

I think the roofs are painted white now, there was some study that showed that it made the buses cooler, lessening the need for AC.

Are school buses commonly air conditioned? Around here they're not, and I don't recall ever riding on an air conditioned school bus.

The coolest thing about the school buses was putting all the windows down. AC would kind of defeat the point, no?

From VoxJr's bus stop, on a county road that takes you out to the main drag that goes through many townships, I see all kinds of buses. His bus for the last half of the year had a big AC unit on the roof, so I could tell which one it from a half mile away.

He's got a brand new bus this year (last year's bus broke down several times last year), with the white roof and tinted windows, but not all the angular lines that some of the new ones have.

Exactly. They don't have AC, so that's why they paint the roofs white to make them cooler.

Last night (or perhaps Monday night), the local news here in Phoenix led off with a story that a bus driver was being disciplined for shutting the AC off for 3 minutes on an August day. Apparently, the elementary school kids were being bratty and he did this as a means of coercion. The story showed some parents getting a stick up their butts over this and saying he deserved to be fired. I changed the channel.
