My dad seems to be turning into one of those old Jewish Obama haters.

He's starting to send me curdled email forwards of rather dubious veracity but unmistakable bile. (The racist subtext is a bit more open to interpretation.) I finally just responded asking him to stop sending me "this fucking garbage."

Though there was a "please" in there.

Something similar happened to my mother. I put it on the fact that she's almost 70, and yet insists on commuting nearly an hour to work, when she listens to right wing radio.

Oddly, my father sits at home watching Rachel Maddow on MSNBC.

He had been sick (like, flu sick) and I'd heard him barfing a few times. Then nothing. They delivered the new phone books about a week ago; his is still sitting in the plastic bag in front of his garage door.

legendary. As in, he was so loud I thought he was getting his fuck on with the hooker he sees pretty regularly and was getting really into it.
