Not gonna get it--it's a senior management position with a big city agency, and I've never managed anything more than an intern (and that not especially well)--but maybe it'll lead to something else down the line.

i think i'm gonna apply for every city job i'm qualified for in about five years. this 911 gig is interesting and all, but i've got to get a 9 to 5 sometime so i can write my book about the 911 gig.

I learn by debating. If you'd prefer I just sit back and absorb everything you say without questioning it, then you're better off just not responding to any of my posts.

I'm trying to match up all the X's and O's with regard to information-leaking. Far as I can tell, the leaking of those who tested positive in 2003 is illegal.

I think the big crux in the matter is that the players who submitted to drug testing in 2003 were promised anonymity.

I'm not bringing this argument over here, but my problem is just that you don't know when to stop. I could argue 'til I'm blue in the face, but the problem is that, whether it's actuality or not, you seem to refuse to absorb the argument before you. It's like when I try to explain to my friends that no, Juan Pierre was NOT the MVP of the 2003 Florida Marlins. We're just not even having the same argument, and that's the crux of the issue with basically any argument that happens on the internet or in a bar.

Basically, there's a difference between accepting everything someone says as truth and absorbing it. You can absorb an argument without believing it. That's how you pick it apart.

I don't expect you to change, but you just said you learn by arguing. It seems to me you're completely unwilling to lose an argument and, unlike me, WILL argue until you're blue in the face. And when you're always getting blue in the face, you're not letting oxygen get to your brain.

It's not about winning or losing. I'll continually push the envelope and stretch the logical limits of an argument because that's the entire exercise.

You're not the first person to complain about this with me. I'm sure it's annoying if you're not intending on having a long, serious conversation. I completely empathize with you. But it's a great way for me to learn and you're either going to have to put up with it, block me, or have me banned from this forum.
