I hate when bbq throwers ask you to bring food rather than money. Would you really rather have an extra pint of Whole Foods potato salad than the five bucks it cost?

I should bring paper plates.

Lease I just signed on a 2/2 on South Beach is 1550 plus utilities, although the air conditioner is, thank jesus, off our electric grid. Figure I'll be putting out 900/month for everything on my end.

I think you win because you're on South Beach, although, honestly, I don't know if I would be able to hang down there.

I just realized I probably won't be able to play my music this loud in the new place.

When talking about a company's employees, it's grammatically correct to say "its employees", right?

Gramatically, it's perfect, but the Chicago manual prefers chattel to employee

I'm on the good side of the island though. I've got a good buffer zone between me and the touristy and club bs, while still being within walking distance of the water on both sides and great places to eat. Completely lucked out on this place, now I'm afraid I used up all that luck and won't be able to find a legit job and will end up doing the bar or restaurant thing. Really not in the mood to do that, but the money would be there.

Just broke out hot habanero salsa. It's going to be quite a Bud Light facilitator.

Had a meeting at Fieldstone today. Ate lunch outside overlooking the green (shaved rib-eye cheesesteak and molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream... MMMMMM) - I haven't seen a vista that beautiful since I was in West Virginia, it was like going on vacation for an hour and a half. The weather today certainly helped.

i'm also probably moving very soon. i have no idea where i really want to go but my buddy fell in love with the Piazza at Schmidt's on Saturday so that may be the place (or somewhere nearby). i don't really care that someone got murdered there; in fact, if that drives down the rent any (doubtful) i'd buy low.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

I'm thinking of heading to Half Moon Bay after the mediation to play the Ocean Course. Only $80 after 3 PM (plus $60 for club rental). That seems like a brilliant idea to me. Anyone played there?

Mediation over by 12. Went to Half Moon Bay. Shot an 86. Birdied 9 and 14. Blow up with an 8 No. 8 and a 7 on 16.

Unfortunately, there was an incident at the course that required me to use my AK.

Get me on the court and I'm trouble, last week messed around and got a triple double (as they show Ice Cube launching the most awful circa 1975 Richie Cunningham hook shot)

So the decline of the dishwasher seems to be a cousin of Why You Have To Flush You Toilet 3 Times Nowadays.

I ask this to Bucky, because I want - Nay, I NEED - his answer, but you all can answer this too.

What is the purpose of a dishwasher nowadays (and how has this changed?) Now when I place dishes and cups in the dishwasher, I have removed any trace of debris, be it food particle or sauce/ketchup/mustard stain present on the object. If I don't, the dishes come out essentially how they went in, with debris or stain still present.

So that brings up the question of why do I need the dishwasher if I've just essentially washed the dish. I suppose I don't use as much soap, so the washer can serve as a disinfectant, but is that really the only purpose?

I somewhat assumed I just had a cheap dishwasher, but your post has made me question this. Also, my glasses come out looking so streaky/spotty, and jet dry hasn't helped. Please Dr. Bucky, help me out.

jeff, I think that just means you have a really crappy dishwasher. My current model is mediocre (I must rinse first) but I certainly don't fully wash the items.

I know I'm like two days late on this, but I concur with Red Tornado. With this GE we have, which isn't the base model either (I upgraded it to get extra soundproofing, since it's about 20 feet from the television, I have to rinse and soak dishes to get them clean. If there's any kind of food residue, it will get distributed and then stuck on the glasses and coffee mugs, and if there's old soda or coffee in a cup/mug, it won't be removed. This is with Jet Dry as well, and various different detergents. I put up with it because I couldn't keep up with hand washing dishes, and I do think that the hot water disinfects better than hand-washing. The interior is also smaller than my old Kenmore.
