Turns out that jet lag really, really, really sucks.

I read that as "reproductive" and was like, "Wow, those guys convinced him."

I'm gonna churn out as many kids as my wife is willing to bear. I feel it's my duty, since I'm a motherfucking genius.

Probably 3.

I'm terrified of children and am not sure I want to have any. Subject to change. But I don't think there's anything wrong with recognizing your indifference to reproduction and not doing so out of some sense of obligation to the species/society.

It's always the smart people who are honest with themselves that don't have kids. And it's the people who have no business having children that churn out 5.

Again, "Idiocracy" wasn't a great movie, but it was dead-on correct about this issue. The best part was the first 10 minutes, which essentially is these two sentences Werthless wrote.

I almost went with the "then you'll become even more lame" approach, but then I realized I average more than 1,000 posts a month (including off seasons) on a Phillies message board, and am about as well suited to call someone lame as I am to point out someone lacks a fashion sense, needs a haircut, or should exercise more.

Those of you determined to remain childless need to think about this: One day, you'll be old, and you won't have anyone who can listen to your alzheimer induced ravings, wipe your poop, and, after a week or so of that nonsense, send you to a nursing home and not visit you.

You know, the two "smart" people who don't reproduce at the beginning of that movie are really pretty loathsome individuals. They may have produced "intelligent" offspring but I suspect such progeny would have pretty a pretty awful human being.

Georgetown. You really had about a 1/4 chance there, since my wardrobe is split pretty evenly between Phillies/Georgetown/Giants/other.

My roommate has a friend from New Zealand/Jordan in my living room right now. They're speaking Arabic, and I can't understand what they're saying.

Hey man, have children, don't have children. Whatever. It's when you start complaining about the rest of us and our rights to go out and not be housebound where I get my back up.

Would I ever take my 2 year old to Sydney? Not unless I have family there that I'm unaware of - otherwise no. I operate on one piece of advice my dad gave me: Try not to put kids in situations they're sure to fail in. But hey, people do what they gotta do. They do pay more, they pay for their kids seats, and airline travel sucks and they deal with it. But they got just as much rights to the airline and travel as dajafi. Maybe dajafi can pay more for a quieter flight.

Or even pay for 1st class. That brings up the debate EndlessSummer had last year about whether to use points to upgrade to 1st class with his baby in tow. I took a very "F Rich People" stance there and said Endless was entitled to that seat. As I grow richer and more powerful with each passing day, I may have to re-evaluate that stance.

I made a Twitter post about how my tire blew out last night and I got it replaced, and minutes later I got an e-mail saying some random dude was following me on Twitter. I checked his page and it's all POSTS IN CAPITAL LETTERS ADVERTISING TIRE GAUGES. How do I take advantage of this?

I'm thinking about advertising tire gauges for one penny less than he's offering them.

I feel bad that Lethal lost his job and while it certainly sucks, does anybody else see a connection with David Carradine's death and Lethal's employment status?

It's well known that Lethal is a ninja and Carradine's lawyer suggested he was killed by a secret kung fu sect as the actor learned more about their underground society which Carradine was secretly investigating.

Lethal if it gets too tough we can drive around looking for cracks in the sidewalk and we'll hook up some slip and falls. Forget tax law, personal injury is where it's at.

Really, like many things, it comes down to The Idiots That Ruin It For Everyone. I can tell you non-breeders that 95% of those parents with a screaming kid feel awful about it and would rather be anywhere else. Of course, it's those oblivious 5% who make it seem like most parents gleefully let their kid annoy everyone within a 500 foot radius. Planes suck, but that's why God invented noise-canceling headphones.

And like Jeff said, most parents avoid planes if they can. Unfortunately, my dad lives in California and it's nice for him to see his granddaughter.

And the first class excursion Jeff mentioned worked out swimmingly and our kid was pretty quiet. The only problem we ran into was when I, as a first-time first-classer, was overcome with my juvenile drinker instinct of consuming all free booze offered to me, and my wife was a little shocked at my third gin and tonic while she was holding the kid. Now that's bad parenting.

Fair point. Although for some, the question of whether to "go get a job and start life" vs. pursuing further education is also a conscious choice.
