i'm gonna be moving out for the first time ever this september. i'm projecting to have at least a couple hundred to blow on useless shit. so far my list is:

xbox 360 (rip, 2004 model)
new shoez
record player (one of them new-fangled digital ones)
digital camera (somehow, i don't have one)

i realize immediately that i'll only be able to afford, like, one of those things, tops. maybe two.

Its $700 through Amazon. You might be able to find it a little cheaper elsewhere. Or you can get the D40, which is the model below the D60.

i've owned two digital cameras and found that i never used them. i'll try to stray away from buying another one for a long time.

oh, i didn't look, i just linked the first google search result i got. i don't want a dj thing, i'm not that hipster. i just want a regular turntable. my dad is in india currently and he had a bunch of old vinyls there that i'm hoping he brings back.

also, that link seems dead. here's what i meant

A couple of weeks ago, woot had a USB turntable. Here's a link, keep an eye out. They might show up in the next wootoff. I don't know if that floats your boat or not, but I thought it seemed pretty neat. I have no vinyl though.

I've got one of those. It's pretty cool. But I have to admit I used it only to digitize (part of) my record collection in 2007, and haven't turned it on since.

It's actually kind of sad, but unless I'm in a rented car with a CD player I pretty much never listen to music anymore other than on the computer and iPod. My faithful stereo which I've brought through something like twelve moves since the early '90s is basically now a dust collector.
